“Play is the foundation of learning, creativity, self-expression, and constructive problem-solving”

Playgrounds are more than just metal or plastic.

We are excited to announce our new initiative, ALCA’s Project Playground. The goal of ALCA’s Project Playground is to raise $100,000 for a new playground for our students to enjoy. This playground will be sensory-friendly and help to promote gross motor skills and movement. The campaign was launched at our Annual Gala on April 30th, where attendees helped us to kickstart the project with $16,000! There is still work to be done, and we are turning to you, our gracious supporters, for help. Any donation amount will help to make this dream become a reality for our students.

Play is one of the most inherent forms of self-discovery and is essential to the development of all children. Research has proven that play helps children develop physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually.

This new structure is designed for all of our students and will provide the necessary equipment to build students’ strength, endurance, and confidence. It will also provide much-needed sensory input and support the growth of students’ proprioceptive and vestibular systems. Students will be able to climb, crawl, swing, slide and challenge their balance all while having fun!
